PCM SIGNAL CONVERSION SYSTEM OF DIGITAL TRUNK

PURPOSE:To prevent the terminal loss between a network and a trunk, by allotting converters in order of link numbers and channel numbers in response to the order of highway numbers and channel numbers on the basis of a prescribed converting rule. CONSTITUTION:Highways HW0-HW3 led from a network NW are connected to a 4 5 converting circuit TRMS, and audio channels are distributed every 24 channels to five digital trunks DTRK#0-#4 and transmitted to a station of the remote side via links LK0-LK4. On the contrary, the signals received from the remote side station and stored in a memory are led into a 5 4 converting circuit TRNS from each digital trunk DTRK. Then audio channels are distributed every 30 channels to the highways HW0-HW3 respectively and transmitted to the network NW. In this case, the memory of the trunk DTRK reads out the burst, and the outputs effective to four digital trunks 4 are fed simultaneously to the 5 4 converting circuit.
