RECEIVER

PURPOSE:To make automatically a frequency of a local oscillator coincident with a preset center frequency by detecting a frequency shift between a center frequency of a mounted intermediate frequency selecting element and the preset intermediate frequency and applying the amount of shift to a variable frequency divider of the local oscillator as a frequency dividing ratio. CONSTITUTION:When a power switch 10' is turned on, a frequency dividing ratio setting device 8f is driven by an output of a power-on detector 8e, and a frequency dividing ratio 426 (the oscillating frequency of the local oscillator 11 is taken as 10.650MHz) is transferred to a register 8a. Simultaneously, a clock generator 8d is activated to transmit a clock signal to a counter 8c. In setting a value of the counter 8c to 0 at the start of detection, the oscillator 11 is oscillated at 10.650MHz. In using the filter having a center frequency of 10.650MHz, a generator 8d outputs a signal after a prescribed time, a value of the counter 8c becomes 1, the oscillator 11 is oscillated at 10.675MHz, and a stop signal generator 7 stops the operation of the generator 8d so as to make automatically the oscillated frequency coincident with the center frequency.
