Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:The titled composition capable of forming a film excellent in adhesion to an inorganic material, flexibility, and water resistance, prepared by emulsion- polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a butadiene component in the presence of a specified reactive silicone. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. monomer mixture comprising 10-80pts.wt. butadiene and 90-20pts.wt. ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable therewith, e.g., butyl (meth)acrylate, is emulsion-polymerized in the presence of 0.05- 5pts.wt. reactive silicone of the formula (wherein R1 is H or CH3, R2 is a bivalent hydrocarbon group, R3 is a 1-4C alkyl, a is 0 or 1, b is 0, 1, or 2, d is 0- 4, and m and n are each 1-4), e.g., vinyltris(beta-methoxyethoxy)-silane. The obtained polymer latex composition is excellent in adhesion, flexibility and water resistance, and can be used in paper or fiber processing, and because of its excellent adhesion to an inorganic material, it is particularly suitable for civil engineering and building applications.
