Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enable removal of a light-gage strip coil together with a cylindrical spool embedded with permanent magnets in a titled device of a quick cooling system of a molten metal in which the light-gage strip is captured by the permanent magnets embedded in the surface of a coiling drum of an expandable diameter type by combining said spool with the coiling drum. CONSTITUTION:Rare earth permanent magnets 1 are embedded by alternating N and S in a nonmagnetic metal 2 and the circumference is fixed by an adhesive agent. On the other hand, the bottom end is brought into contact with a cylindrical ring 3 formed of a magnetic material such as a steel and the electricity is conducted to constitute a magnetic circuit, thereby preventing the decrease in magnetic force. The surface of the magnets 1 are covered with the film of a nonmagnetic material 4 such as a resin, hard rubber or the like having elasticity and wear resistance. The thickness of the film is usually about 1mm. as the decreased magnetic force is resulted from the thick film. The film prevents direct contact of a light-gate strip 5 with the magnets 1 thereby decreasing considerably the damage on the magnets 1. The winding drum part which coils directly the strip 5 is made of a cylindrical spool 11 embedded with the magnets 1 in the above-mentioned way and therefore the strip 5 is removable together with the spool 11 from the expandable coiling drum 6 and the immediate insertion of the fresh spool 11 to the drum 6 is possible.
