LOOP TOWER

PURPOSE:To make easy to transport strip coils through a loop tower by arranging respective rolls in a row of upper rolls between respective rolls in a row of lower rolls and by placing them below the row of said lower rolls. CONSTITUTION:The centers of respective rolls in a row of upper rolls 4 are placed between respective rolls in a row of lower rolls 5 via a wire 7 and, also at the point E which should be below the row 5, so strip 6 is transported from the inlet of a loop tower to the outlet of said tower as shown by an arrow in the figure, practically in linear state without waving motion, by pinching the ed of said strip 6 with a feed-roll 9 for transportation and simultaneously getting guide effect of a fixed table 8. After finishing such transportation, by pulling up of upper roll-carriage with an elevation device and rope 7, setting the center of upper roll 4' to the highest position A in the case of the inlet of loop tower and the center of upper roll 4'' to the ordinary lowest position B in the case of the outlet of loop tower, the transportation process for strip along the outer circumference of upper and lower rolls is finished.
