CONSTITUTION:In the preparation of an aromatic diurethane by the reaction of an aromatic dinitro compound with an OH-containing organic compound (e.g. methanol) and carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst containing a platinum-group metal (e.g. Pd) and a halogen, the reaction is carried out in two steps wherein the first step is performed to attain a conversion of the aromatic dinitro compound (e.g. dinitrobenzene) of >=70% and the production ratio of the aromatic diurethane of
