Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To facilitate matching between a plurality of orifices in a tubular member and communication holes in a regulating chip by splitting into a tubular main piston rod and a sub-piston rod secured with a tubular member containing a damping force regulating chip. CONSTITUTION:A piston rod is splitted into main piston rod 48 and sub-piston rod 50 to be contained dismountably in a tubular section of said rod. Electric parts 44 such as a rotary drive 26, rotary angle position detector 41 are contained in said tubular section 51 while a tubular member 52 is secured to the lower end 50a. A plurality of orifices 21a, 21c are made through the wall section 53 of said member 52 while a regulating chip 28 having holes 30, 31 communicatable with any one of said orifices 21a, 21c is contained rotatably in said member 52.
