CONTROL SYSTEM FOR PULLING OUT OF MAGNETIC TAPE

PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a magnetic tape as well as the damage of the tape due to the permanent deformation generated in the tape lengthwise direction by said deformation of the tape, by discontinuing the impression of torque to a pair of reels when the tape is pulled out. CONSTITUTION:An arm 20-3 turns in response to the tension of a magnetic tape 1, and this tape tension is detected by a potentiometer 20-4. This detection signal is fed back to a drive control system 17 to keep the tension of the tape 1 at a prescribed level. Then the impression of the drive torque is discontinued to reels 2 and 3 to pull out the tape 1. Then a small amount of tension is produced to the tape 1 owing to the friction generated among reels 2 and 3 and shift guide rolls 7 and 8 respectively. Then the tape 1 is gradually led to the cylindrical part of the shift guide roll and never produces the deformation like A even though a side edge part 1-1 of the tape 1 gets on the flange part of the roll 7 since the frictional force is small between them.
