Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent the surface of a card from being damaged or stained by providing plural couples of rollers which press and clamp a couple of edges in the breadthwise or lengthwise direction of a card, then and supports and conveys the card. CONSTITUTION:A couple of edges of the inserted IC card 100 are pressed and clamped in the breadthwise direction of the card 100 by rubber rolls 30 providing to card conveying rollers 18. The IC card then moves on a card conveyance path 14 by the rotation of the card conveying rollers 18 while holding a gap (without contacting except at the edge parts) and is locked by abutting on a card lock part 16. When the IC card 100 is locked by abutting on the card lock part 16, the movable part of an inspecting mechanism part moves down and a probe for inspection contacts an external terminal of the IC on the IC card 100. The information on the IC card is read by a controller incorporating a computer.
