Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:In a muffler for reducing the noise of a fan, to improve the noise reduction in low and intermediate sound region without increasing the cost and dimension, by providing an air layer between an acoustic material and box. CONSTITUTION:It is comprised of a porous inner tube 1 made of a porous board, acoustic material fixed to the outercircumference and a rectangular box 3. A space A between the acoustic material 2 and the box 3 will function as an air layer to improve noise reduction in low and intermediate region. The acoustic material 2 is not required to increase the thickness or the density while since the outer dimension of conventional cylindrical muffler will basically be one side of the box 3 of this invention, the work space is not sacrificed.
