Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To effect quick collection of oil into a crankcase by using rooms which are defined in the proximities of the end parts of two banks disposed in the shape of V to form oil return passages therein. CONSTITUTION:A V-engine 1 has cam shafts 10 and 11 turnably mounted on banks 2 and 3 which are arranged in the shape of V, that is, on cylinder heads 8 and 9 which make air-tight joint with the upper face of a cylinder head 4. Both the cam shafts 10 and 11 are synchronously turned by a crankshaft 7 via a timing belt 15 or so. The interiors of the cylinder heads 8 and 9 open to the front and rear oil return passages 41 and 42 which are formed in a cylinder block 4 at the positions opposed to the parts proximate to the end parts 10a and 11b of the cam shafts 10 and 11 at the opposed sides to each other and said passages are communicated with the interior of a crankcase 6 via a pressure damping chamber and so forth. Oil may be therefore collected quickly. |
