STEERING LOCK

PURPOSE:To prevent wrong operations and secure safety and burglarproof by fixing a magnetic sensitive element to a frame while connecting the terminal of said element to a locking-releasing detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A gear assembly 23 uses high reduction ratio profile shifted gears to increase the turing torque of a rotator 21. In a pair of holes 27, 28 provided in a case 24 of the gear assembly 23 are arranged opposed to each other lead switches 34, 35 for detecting the locking and releasing condition. One switch 34 is operated to detect the releasing position by the approach of a magnet 25 embedded in the output shaft 36 of the gear assembly 23 when the rod 18 is lifted by a motor through the hanger 19 and the gear assembly 23, i.e. in the releasing position. On the other hand, when the motor rotates to the locking position, i.e. the rod 18 is in the locking position the other switch 35 is operated by the approach of the magnet 25 to detect the locking position.
