THREAD WINDER

PURPOSE:To perform reliable shifting of a thread without the occurrence of thread breaking, by a method wherein, dependent upon a change in the diameter of a thread package, a shifter guide device and a traverse guide device or a thread guide roller and the traverse guide device are moved in linkage with each other. CONSTITUTION:As a thread Y is wound around a bobbin 41, a touch roller 3B is raised. As the touch roller is raised, a shifter guide device 1 and a traverse device 2 are raised in linkage therewith. When a package PF having a bobbin 41 becomes full, a touch roller 3BF is raised to a given level to turn ON a switch, and an empty bobbin 42 is started to rotate. A shifter guide 11 is moved leftward, and the thread Y is unhooked from a traverse guide. With a thread bending guide 53 swung, a thread YC enters an oblique groove 53 in a guide 53 to press it against an empty bobbin 42, the thread is engaged with a slit and is cut, and bunch-winding is effected around an empty bobbin 42c.
