THREAD WINDER

PURPOSE:To perform reliable shifting of a thread without the occurrence of thread breaking, by a method wherein, according to a change in the diameter of a thread package, a shifter guide device and a traverse guide device or a guide roller and a traverse guide device are moved in linkage with each other. CONSTITUTION:When a package PF having a bobbin around which a thread is in course of winding, becomes full, a touch roller 3BF forced into press contact with the package PF is raised to a given level. In which case, with a switch turned ON, a turret body 461 is rotated, and with a thread bending guide 53 swung, a thread YC is forcibly pressed to move it to the outside of an ordinary thread passage. Resulting from movement of a thread bending guide 53c, a fluid pressure cylinder is operated, a thread Y, swung diagonally by a traverse guide, is guided onto a slit in an empty bobbin 42, and a thread YC, unhooked from a guide, is first brought into contact with the empty bobbin 42 in a condition to be locked in an oblique groove. This causes a thread to be forcibly engaged with the slit and cut to start bunch-winding of the thread around the bobbin 42.
