PRODUCTION OF FOAM COMPRISING POLYISOCYANATE COMPOUND AND PLASTIC EMULSION

PURPOSE:To generate CO2 quickly to thereby obtain a uniform foam, by mixing a specified polyisocyanate compound of excellent water dispersibility with a plastic emulsion. CONSTITUTION:A foam is produced by mixing (i) a polyisocyanate compound obtained by reacting (A) 100pts.wt. polyisocyanate based on diphenylmethane diisocyanate with (B) 1-20pts.wt. polyethylene oxide derivative of formula I or II(wherein R and R' are each a 1-4 C alkyl, and n and m are each 5-120 on an average) and (C) a polyetherdiol and/or polyethertriol having an ethylene oxide to propylene oxide molar ratio of 1/0-1/3 and a MW of 200-6,000 at an NCO to OH molar ratio of 2-20 with (ii) a plastic emulsion. This polyisocyanate compound is not of an oil-in-water type and rapidly reacts with water. Thus it can quickly generate CO2 and form a uniform foam when combined with the plastic emulsion.
