Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To remove efficiently polar materials from the gas contg. such materials by bringing the gas into contact with activated carbon contg. a moisture absorbent. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. of a moisture absorbent such as CaCl2, Li2SO4 or the like is uniformly sprayed or impregnated in activated carbon or the powder of the moisture absorbent is sprinkled on the activated carbon and is rested in moist air, by which the activated carbon contg. the moisture absorbent is obtd. Such activated carbon is packed in a packed bed or the like and is brought into contact with waste gas contg. polar materials including methanol, formalin, SO2, trimethylamine, methyl mercaptan, etc., by which the polar materials are removed from the waste gas.
