Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To increase the displacement amount of a bender, to take the distance between the engaging position and the engagement releasing position larger and to simplify the asembling of the titled engaging device by a method wherein voltage is impressed on the piezoelectric bender, the bender is displaced and engagement or release of the operating part of the mechanical device is performed according to the displaced positions. CONSTITUTION:The rear cap 1h and the lock opening and shutting lever 1j of a camera 1 are locked, a finder window 1d and a window 1c for image are opened by operating a control protrusion 3 and, interlocking thereto, the main switch S0 of an operating circuit is closed. By this switch S0, a boosting circuit 52 is actuated and a capacitor C is charged. Then, by the operation of a release button 1f, an automatic focusing and a pulse generating circuits 50 and 51 are respectively actuated, a high voltage signal is applied to a piezoelectric bender 16 and the bender 16 is displaced. By this method, the coupling part of a lens holding member (operating part) is engaged and after the displacement of the bender 16 was completed, the generation of pulse is stopped, a transistor Tr2 is non-conducted, the bender 16 is made a double-action and the coupling part of the operating part is released and the distance between the engaging position and the releasing position is increased.
