PICTURE CORRECTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To correct a shift occurring between screens which is due to the position (coordinates), rotation, etc. among pictures after branching a screen into plural pieces with use of density histograms of at least two directions. CONSTITUTION:The picture caught by an image fiber 1 is branched by a half mirror 2, and a shift is produced between screens after branching due to a position shift and rotation. Therefore the picture caught by the fiber 1 is converted into electric signals by image pickup devices 4 and 5 with no intervention of filters 8 and 9. These electric signals are turned into images. Thus a circular picture is obtained to the screen. The frequencies of two directions (vertical and horizontal) shown outside the screen are obtained by calculating the density histogram in optional two directions of the screen. If the caught picture has a rotary error, a difference is produced between the density histograms in two directions (vertical and horizontal) of the screen. In such a case, the picture (or screen) is turned to obtain the coincidence of the density histograms of two directions between two screens.
