Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To increase easily the number of communication devices by arranging a star coupler having >=2 input and output branching paths and 1:n distribution and n:1 convergence repeaters, and connecting mutually them by means of an optical fiber cable in a bus structure optical network. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal transmitted from the communication devices 200-203 is inputted to the star coupler 100 via a corresponding transmission optical fiber cable and branched and outputted to receiving optical fiber cables 400-403, 416 and 417 from the star coupler 100. The communication devides 204-209 receives this output via the fiber cable 416 and a distribution repeater 500a. The optical signal transmitted from the communication devices 204-209 is inputted to the star coupler 100 via the convergence repeater 600a and the fiber cable 316. The signal is received or transmitted similarly via the distribution repeater 500b of the convergence repeater 600b as to the communication devices 210-215.
