Zusammenfassung:	A process for the preparation of polyhydroxyl compounds containing alcoholic hydroxyl groups, at least some of which are blocked, by reacting any desired organic compounds which contain at least two alcoholic hydroxyl groups but are otherwise inert under the reaction conditions with organic compounds which contain at least one structural unit of the formula and/or of the formula (X = a hydrocarbon radical) but are otherwise inert under the reaction conditions, as blocking agent, the compounds obtainable by this process which contain hydroxyl groups, at least some of which are blocked, and coating agents containing compounds of this type and polyisocyanates containing optionally blocked isocyanate groups.
