DISPERSANT FOR AQUEOUS COAL SLURRY

PURPOSE:To prevent sedimentaion of pulverized coal by incorporating an alkylene oxide adduct of a polyamide resin contg. active hydrogen atoms obtd. as a condensation product of a polybasic carboxylic acid with a polyamine or a deriv. of said alkylene oxide adduct. CONSTITUTION:A dispersant for aq. coal slurry is obtd. by incorporating an alkylene oxide adduct of a polyamide resin contg. active hydrogen atoms prepd. by condensation reaction of a polybasic acid having 300-1,000 molecular weight with a polyamine, or a deriv. thereof. Preferred polybasic acid iw dimer acid of unsatd. fatty acid, and preferred polyamine is aliphatic polyamine. The polyamide resin has pref. >=10 in average active hydrogen atoms in one molecule.
