BUTTON TYPE ALKALINE MANGANESE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To obtain a battery with excellent close circuit voltage and resistance to leakage by providing a U-shaped packing that insulates and seals the section between both positive and negative electrodes and loading liquid-absorption paper in the vicinity of cellophane along the inner diameter of the packing. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode black mix 32, liquid-absorption paper 33, and cellophane 34 made of manganese dioxide is housed in a positive electrode can 31 and a cross-sectional U-shaped packing 35 is inserted and liquid-absorption paper 36 is inserted in the inner diameter of this packing. Then the can is filled with a negative electrode black mix 37 made of cured zinc powder, etc. A finished battery is obtained by applying an alkaline electrolyte and a negative electrode can 38 and caulking the opening end of the positive electrode can 31. Since the overlapping method that uses the cross-sectional U-shaped packing 35 is used, resistance to leakage is excellent and the expansion coefficient of the liquid-absorption paper 36 is increased. As a result, the negative electrode black mix 37 is lifted up and the contact betwen the negative electrode black mix 37 and the inner surface of the negative electrode can 38 and the close circuit voltage are improved.
