DEFLECTION YOKE

PURPOSE:To compensate for residual misconvergence at the horizontal line at the intermediate part of screen by setting the horizontal deflection coil of deflection yoke into such a shape as having a coil for the range of the specified angle. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal deflection coil 10 has a shape, different from the main horizontal deflection coil 10a, that a coil 10b is provided from the opening part in the side of screen to the opening part in the side of electron gun in the range of about 54 to 90 degrees in terms of the angle theta measured from the center line 11 in the direction of horizontal deflection axis. The main horizontal deflection coil 10a plays a role of main deflection, while the coil 10b plays a role of compensating for residual misconvergence at the intermediate part of screen. When misconvergence of horizontal line at the corner of screen is reduced to zero, owing to the horizontal deflection coil forming the deflection yoke, the residual misconvergence of horizontal line at the intermediate part of screen can be compensated suffficiently. Simultaneously, misconvergence of vertical line of screen can also be compensated sufficiently.
