Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prepare the titled carbonate having excellent heat resistance and mechanical characteristics, etc., by adding an esterification agent such as phosgene to a mixture of 4,4'-dihydroxysulfide and an M,N-dihydroxysulfide (M and N are 1-3) having a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:4,4'-Dihydroxysulfide of formula is mixed with an M,N-dihydroxysulfide (M and N are 1-3, preferably 2,2'- or 3,3'-dihydroxysulfide) at a molar ratio of 0.1-10.0. Phosgene or a compound having diphenyl carbonate bond is added as an esterification agent to the above mixture at an equimolar amount or excess to the mixture by several mol%, and the sulfides are reacted with each other.
