HANDY DETERMINING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SILVER IN SILVER PLATING LIQUID

PURPOSE:To achieve a quantitative analysis of silver in a silver plating liquid quickly and at a high accuracy by seeing through a mark on a mark plate moving horizontally through the silver plating liquid through a slide shifting along an opening of a transparent tank on which a scale is provided from the side end thereof. CONSTITUTION:2, 4 and 8ml of standard liquids each with the silver concentration of 40g/l are put into a transparent rectangular tank 1 and 10ml of polyvinylalcohol (dispersing liquid) and 15ml of antiformin are added thereto at the rate of 0.5wt%. After the mixture is stirred and allowed to stand, about 1g of ammonium carbonate is added and stirred and then, water added to bring the total quantity to about 200ml. The turbidity due to silver chloride generated is seen through from the side of the tank 1 moving a mark plate 2 horizontally in the liquid through a slide member 3 to measure the position of just identifying a double cross mark on the mark plate 2 through a scale 1 of the opening and a calibration curve is prepared. Then, the same operation is done for the plating liquid and the measured distance is compared with the calibration curve thereby enabling the quantitative analysis of silver quickly at a high accuracy.
