Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium highly sensitive to light in a near- infrared region and non-toxic, by constituting a recording layer of an organic film consisting of a phthalocyanine compound containing a Group IV metal and a specified shifting agent, in a recording medium for semiconductor laser recording. CONSTITUTION:An organic film of a phthalocyanine compound containing Ti, Sn and/or Pb as Group IV metal is formed on a base consisting of a plastic, glass or a metal by a vacuum deposition method or a spin coating method. Then one or more shifting agents selected from the group consisting of a quinoline derivative (formula 1), an indole derivative (formula 2), a benzotriazole derivative (formula 3), a bipyridine derivative (formula 4) and a phenanthroline derivative (formula 5) are brought into contact with the organic film by a method wherein the film is immersed in a solution of the shifting agents in a solvent or the solution is sprayed onto the film, thereby producing the recording layer. A metallic reflecting layer may be preliminarily provided on the base.
