MUTING DEVICE OF RECORD PLAYER

PURPOSE:To decrease the number of parts and to reduce a device in cost and size by providing a single relay with both functions of signal switching and muting. CONSTITUTION:When a surface A is specified from an operation part 21 at a point t1 of time, a controller 14 places a signal changeover relay 13 on the side of the signal system B of a pickup means 12 as shown in a figure (c). When a pickup means 11 arrives at a play start position, the means is moved down by an elevation means 15 as shown in a figure (a). A down completion detecting means 17 detects the completion of the down operation at a point t2 of time as shown in a figure (d) and then a controller 14 switches the relay 13 to the side A of a signal system A as shown in a figure (c). Consequently, a signal from the pickup means 11 is supplied to an amplification part through the relay 13 from the point t2 of time. When a play completion detecting means 19 detects the completion of playback operation at a point t3 of time, the controller 14 switches the relay 13 to the side of a signal system B as shown in a figure (c) to elevate the means 11 by the means 15 and then return it.
