OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical waveguide device reduced at its coupling loss with a fiber having a large aperture by laminating and adhering plural optical waveguide substrates having trapezoidal sections and changing the waveguide width stepwise. CONSTITUTION:Plural macromolecular optical waveguide, films 12-13 including an optical polymerization part 24 constituting a clad and a non-optical polymerization part 25 forming a core, having trapezoidal sections respectively and setting up the width of the optical waveguide parts 26 so as to be different stepwise with each other are laminated to constitute an optical waveguide device 31 forming the section of the whole waveguide like an artificial circular. Respective films 12-23 are adhered through adhering layers 27 and coating layers 28, 29 are formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the laminated body.
