METHOD FOR OPERATING SINTERING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To obtain high quality sintered ore by quantitatively estimating the uniformity of the heat history of a sintered ore layer on the pallet of a sintering machine from information about the temp. of exhaust gas from each wind box of the sintering machine and by controlling the heat history. CONSTITUTION:The temp. of exhaust gas after passing through a sintered ore layer in a continuous sintering machine such as a DL type sintering machine is continuously measured for every wind box from the ore feeding side to the ore discharging side. A cubic approximate curve is obtd. by the method of least squares from the measured values at a certain point of time. The sum total of the absolute values of the differences each between the curve and other measured temp. is calculated by the equation (where i=1-n is the numbers of the wind boxes), and conditions during the blending of starting materials with fuel, operational conditions, etc. are controlled so as to minimize the sum total.
