A curable unsaturated polyester molding material containing A. ethylenically unsaturated polyesters, B. ethylenically unsaturated monomers which are copolymerizable with A, C. from 1 to 30 % by weight of shrinkage-reducing and/or elastifying organic polymers, D. from 5 to 300 % by weight, based on A+B, of fibrous reinforcing agents, E. if required, pulverulent fillers, F. if required, from 0.5 to 5 % by weight, based on A+B, of thickeners, G. from 0.05 to 5 % by weight, based on A+B, of organic peroxides, H. cobalt compounds, and I. if required, other conventional additives, wherein a planar cobalt (II) chelate complex containing a tetradentate ligand in which 2 or more bonds are associated with a nitrogen atom is employed, as component H, in an amount corresponding to 5-300 ppm, based on the weight of A+B, of Co.
