Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To remove efficiently radioactive nuclide of a long half-life in a liquid metal in a method for capturing the radioactive nuclide in the liquid metal by an Ni alloy, etc. by using an amorphous alloy of Ni, etc. CONSTITUTION:A liquid metal contg. the radioactive nuclide of a long half-life, for example, Na is brought into contact with an amorphous alloy (getter material) consisting essentially of Ni or iron to have the radioactive nuclide captured by the amorphous alloy, thereby refining the liquid Na. The amorphous alloy is, for example, Ni-P, Fe-Si, Fe-Al-Si alloys, etc. These alloys have an amorphous structure, i.e. the structure consisting of only the crystal grain boundaries and therefore the radioactive nuclide which is a chemical seed having affinity to a getter material is uniformly diffused and penetrated in a large amt. from the liquid Na into the getter material. The increase of the removal rate of the radioactive nuclide to about >=90% is made possible according to the above-mentioned method.
