Zusammenfassung:	Novel analgesic and enkephalinase inhibiting compositions comprising an analgesically and enkephalinase inhibitory effective amount of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a compound of the formula I wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and acetyl, n is 1 or 2 and when n is 1, R2 is selected from the group consisting of phenyl, p-chlorophenyl, m-trifluoromethylphenyl and thiazolyl and when n is 2, R2 is selected from the group consisting of phenyl and p-chlorophenyl and their salts with non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acids and bases and an inert pharmaceutical carrier and novel method of relieving pain and inhibiting enkephalinase activity in warm-blooded animals and novel amides.
