Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To construct an electrode for electric discharge machining easily in a short time and at a low cost by molding it with a material consisting of at least one of metal powder such as copper, etc. and graphite powder, and a conductive bonding agent. CONSTITUTION:As the chief component of an electrode, either of graphite and powdered copper, or both of these combined are normally used. As for a conductive bonding agent, a bonding agent, e.g., containing carbon may be used. Desirably, such a conductive bonding agent is set at room temperature in order to prevent the deformation of a molded product when it is set. When molding, the model, etc. of a required molding is used, the periphery of this model is enclosed with a frame, a slurry of molding material is poured into this frame, and is allowed to be set at room temperature before it is separated from the model. Thereby an electrode for electric discharge machining can be easily manufactured in a short time and at a low cost.
