Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reproduce a recorded waveform as a reproduced waveform with fidelity over a broad band by forming a main magnetic pole where the width of one end of a main magnetic pole is formed partly as uniform width and a magnetic gradient with a reduced degree of magnetic induction is applied from the one end to the other end. CONSTITUTION:In using the main magnetic pole 6A having a uniform width at one end and having a gradient of area where the cross section area is reduced gradually from one end to the other end as shown in a figure (f), the magnetic flux phi is shown in a figure (e) and the reproduced voltage V is shown in a figure (g). Since the magnetic flux phi is an integration value over the track width W attended with the movement of a magnetization transposition point R, the gradient of the cross section area of the main magnetic pole 6A can be the magnetic gradient where the degree of magnetic induction is reduced to the other end. Further, based on this consideration, the reproduced voltage V as shown in the figure (g) is obtained from a main magnetic pole 6B having the gradient of cross section area with nonlinearity as shown in a figure (h), for example, or a main magnetic pole 6C having rugged area gradient comprising plural inclinations as shown in a figure (i) as well as the main magnetic pole having one slant face as shown in the figure (f).
