Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enhance the yield by preventing the generation of air bubbles in a filler and thus improve the photo transmission efficiency by a method wherein an aperture is formed nearly over the entire region in the longitudinal direction of one side surface of a cylinder type lens, and then the filler is injected from this aperture. CONSTITUTION:The array 12 of light emitting diodes is formed in the longitudinal direction of a strip formed metallic electrode substrate 11. The cylinder type lens 13 which converges lights from light emitting diode chips 12-1-12-n into a linear light is provided on this array 12. This lens 13 is provided with a groove 13a of longitudinal direction to protect said array 12 at the position opposed to said array 12. By corresponding to this groove 13a, the aperture 14 nearly over the entire region of one side surface of said lens is formed. The groove 13a is filled by injecting the filler 15 from this aperture 14 by means of a dispenser, etc. Since the air in the groove 13a is sufficiently exhausted through the aperture 14, the filler 15 flows well in the groove 13a, which can be therefore filled uniformly, and air bubbles do not generate at this time.
