Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide the titled binder having excellent dispersibility of magnetic powder and giving a coating film having excellent abrasion resistance and proper hardness, by using a copolymer composed of a specific ratios of ethylene, vinyl chloride, a vinyl ester and a monomer containing functional group, as a main component. CONSTITUTION:The objective binder for magnetic paint contains, as a main component, the copolymer composed of (A) 2-15wt% of ethylene, (B) 40-80wt% of vinyl chloride, (C) 10-50wt% of a vinyl ester (preferably vinyl acetate, etc.), and (D) 0.5-10wt% of a monomer containing functional group (e.g. carboxyl- containing monomer, N-methylol-containing vinyl monomer, etc.). EFFECT:High adhesivity to base film, smooth surface of the coating film, low electrical resistance, and suppresses trouble caused by electrical charge. USE:Magnetic tape and magnetic card.
