GEAR FABRICATING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To make gear cutting and finishing available on a single apparatus by allowing rotating tobles supporting hob-shaft and work free to be displaced in two directions intersecting each other through an angle of 90 deg. relatively and mounting gear cutting hob and finishing hob on a hob-shaft. CONSTITUTION:A head 2 is installed on a body proper 1 of a gear fabricating apparatus and a hob-shaft 7 is mounted on the head 2 available for vertical and rotating motions. The hob-shaft 7 accommodates axially gear cutting hob 9 and finishing hob 10 and further, a bracket 6 supporting the hob-shaft is free to be displaced in the Y-direction. On a rotating table 12 on a slide available for displacement in the X-direction is fixed a work A. After a gear cutting operation with the hob 9, the hob-shaft is shifted in the Y-direction and a finish cutting operation is performed with the finishing hob 10.
