THERMAL HEAD

PURPOSE:To miniaturize a printing mechanism, by respectively mounting a substrate provided with a heat generator line and a substrate provided with a heat generator recording pattern or a heat generator control circuit on different surfaces mutually having certain angles on a heat dissipating plate. CONSTITUTION:A heat dissipating plate 1 is formed into an L-shape and only a heat generator substrate 2a is mounted to the bottom surface 1b thereof to make a heat generator surface flat while a control circuit substrate 2b is mounted on the surface 1a of the recessed part of the L-shape. At the same time, even if a protective cover 3 is provided in order to use a flexible cable 6 in connecting the substrates 2a, 2b, the total width of a thermal head 7 can be made equal to or less than the width of the heat generator substrate 2a. As a result, by the combination with transfer paper assembled in a small cassette in transfer heat sensitive recording, a printing mechanism can be constituted in a small size as the whole.
