Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To ensure the photographing in response to the photographer's will for the highlight or shadow reference exposure by obtaining the exposure corresponding to the value that is changed by a prescribed number of stages from the spot light reading value or its memory value. CONSTITUTION:The subject light passed through a photographing lens is received with a comparatively narrow photodetecting angle, and a light reading signal corresponding to the intensity of said photodetecting angle is delivered by a light reading device 36. In addition, memories 78 and 80 which can store the light reading signal at an optional light reading time point is provided along with a display device 106 which displays the exposure value corresponding to the stored light reading value in the form of the stage number difference obtained from the exposure value realized in an exposure mode, a means 30 which selects and sets the modes of highlight and shadow reference exposures, a circuit 84 which changes the level of the stored light reading value in response to the exposure mode and by a prescribed number of stages, and a device 96 which controls the exposure by the exposure value corresponding to the light reading value undergone a level change.
