PRODUCTION OF ACETYLPHOSPHATE SALT

PURPOSE:The reaction mixture resulting from acetylation of phosphoric acid is mixed with an alcohol, then ammonia is made to act on them to form monoammonium acetylphosphate as a precipitate, thus giving the titled phosphate salt with high bulk density and stability at room temperature. CONSTITUTION:The acetylation of phosphoric acid is effected using an acetylating agent such as acetic anhydride in a solvent inert to acetylation such as ethyl acetate. The resultant reaction mixture is combined with an alcohol, preferably methanol, in an amount equal to or more than the above acetylating solvent, then ammonia is made to act on them to precipitate the acetylphosphate in the form of its monoammonium salt, which is separated from the mother liquor.
