Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the broken pieces of the refractory material packed in a ladle nozzle from remaining in the nozzle by opening a hole in the nozzle and a long nozzle while blowing inert gas from prior to hole opening in the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A long nozzle 4 is immersed in a molten metal 9 in a tundish and is set in such a position where it communicates with a ladle nozzle 3 prior to hole opening in the nozzle 3. An inert gas is then blown from the suitable position of the nozzle 3 or the nozzle 4. A hole is opened in the ladle nozzle while the inert gas is blown therein. The refractory material packed in the ladle nozzle is forced to the outside of the nozzle without clogging in the lower part of the nozzle by the inert gas blown therein, and further the refractory material is easily floated by the baffle of the succeeding gas.
