Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To detect even a low temperature heated object accurately by connecting a modulation section having a Faraday element to a point wih an appropriate environmental condition in the intermediate section of an optical fiber for transmitting infrared rays radiated from the heated object. CONSTITUTION:Infrared rays from a thermal object 1 enter a polarizer plate 6a through an optical fiber 3a of a low loss. When the light converted into a linearly polarized light with the polarizer plate 6a passes through a Faraday element 7, it generates a Faraday rotation under the influence of an AC magnetic field due to alternating current flowing through a coil 8. The angle of rotation is received with a polarizer plate 6b set in the direction of polarization axis at 45 deg. to the polarizer plate 6a and the quantity of light proportional to the angle of Faraday is outputted to an optical fiber 3b. This AC optical signal is received with a light receiving element 5 and after a photoelectric conversion, it is AC amplified and converted into DC to be displayed. |
