AROMATIC POLYESTER AMIDE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain a novel aromatic polyester amide having excellent solubility, processability, and heat resistance, by the polycondensation of a specific aromatic dicarboxylic acid with an aromatic hydroxyamino compound and an aromatic diamino compound at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymer containing the structural units of formula IV-VI which are bonded together through amide bond and/or ester bond is prepared by the polycondensation of (A) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (derivative) of formula I (e.g. terephthaloyl dichloride) with (B) an aromatic hydroxyamino compound of formula II [e.g. 2,2-(4'-hydroxy-4''-amino-diphenyl)propane] and (C) a compound of formula III (R1-R12 are H, halogen, nitro, phenyl, 1-5C alkyl, etc.; R13 and R14 are H or 1-5C alkyl; Z1-Z3 are direct bond, O, S, sulfonyl, etc.; n1 is 0 or 1; n2 is 0-2) at a ratio [A:(B+C)] of 1:1.1-1.1:1.
