Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To smooth the expansion and contraction of a combustion wick and to smooth the vertical movement of the wick, by a method wherein plural slits, slanted in the same direction as that of a spiral, are formed in juxtaposition with each other in the expanding and contracting part of a fuel suction part. CONSTITUTION:A wick body 1 is constituted such that a heat resisting combustion part 2 and a fuel suction part 3 are vertically connected by a sewing or other means 4, and a reinforcing tape 5 is adhered to a connection 4. A rack plate 7, wherein an inclining rack 8 is engraved, is secured to a wick holder 6. A number of slits 10, 10..., slanted in the same direction as that of a spiral in which the wick body 1 is elevated, are provided in juxtaposition with each other so as to smooth the expansion and contraction of the wick body 1 in case the wick body 1 is elevated in a spiral manner.
