Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide a dome-shaped mesh electrode with a large height of the formed shape, by heating up and cooling down the work piece according to a predetermined temperature schedule while the work piece is formed by a press. CONSTITUTION:A mesh electrode blank member made of a flat mesh 1 fixedly held by two holding rings 2, 3 at the circumferential portion thereof is mounted on a support 15 and a forming punch 19 having a predetermined curved surface is lowered from above the blank piece along the guide 16, whereby the flat metallic mesh is formed in to a dome shape tightly fitting on the curved surface of the forming punch. At this stage, the members within the casing 11, that is, the support 15, the mesh electrode blank 5, the forming punch 19, and the guide 16 are, while all are kept substantially at the same temperature, heated up from the room temperature to 500 deg.C in 30min and from 500 deg.C to 670 deg.C in 30min, then held at 670 deg.C for 10min, then the power supply forthe heater 12 is turned off to lower the temperature from 670 deg.C to 400 deg.C, and then all the members are cooled down to the room temperature by a cooling device, for example means using water. Thus a dome-shaped electrode 42 with a dome-shaped metallic mesh 41 having such large height as 8mm.-12mm. of the formed shape can be provided.
