LAPPING STOOL AND LAPPING METHOD

PURPOSE:To remove a sheet plate from a lapping surface plate when the shape of the workpiece is deteriorated after use and to stick a new sheet plate onto the lapping surface plate for renewing, by applying a sheet plate on a reference plate with the use of a liquid so that the lapping surface plate is formed. CONSTITUTION:A lapping surface plate is composed of a rolled steel plate having its top surface subjected to grinding work for obtaining a refernece plate 1, a tin plate 2 used as a sheet plate 2 and ethylalcohl used as a pasting liquid 3. When an alumina ceramics is lapped with the use of diamond abrasive grain having 1mum particle size as lapping abrasive, a working accuracy and nature substantially equal to or even higher than those obtained by conventional lapping surface plate may be obtained. Further, the repair of the lapping surface plate may be made only by replacing the sheet plate 2 to be applied to the reference plate 1, and therefore, the time necessary for the repair may be shortened, thereby the management of the lapping surface plate may be facilitated.
