TAPE POLISHING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To perform a polishing job in good working properties, besides in a highly accurate manner, by using an abrasive tape for a polishing tool, while making a sample and the abrasive tape either achieve a relative motion under a constant pressure as well as setting a guide part, which presses the abrasive tape in motion simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 1 is held on a driving table 2 and contacts under a constant pressure with an abrasive grain holding surface of an abrasive tape 6 which is fed in one direction from a delivery reel 4 to a take-up reel 5 along the reference plane of a tape guide 3, and performs a relative motion whereby it is polished. In addition, to add a fixed tension to the workpiece, a tape 6 is set down to a braking mechanism for the reel 4 by using a motor or the like and further there is provided with a guide 7 so as to cause the uniform tension to be added to the whole surface of the tape 6. Then, a pressure receiving spot of this guide 7 is made to vary in succession. With this constitution, polishing can be performed with good efficiency, besides in a highly accurate manner.
