Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prepare a novel thermophilic xylanase, by cultivating a microorganism belonging to the genus Streptomyces, and prepare at least one selected from D-xylose, xylo-oligosaccharide and xylobiose by the enzyme. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism, e.g. Streptomyces virido-diastaticus T-244 (FERM-P No. 6154) or Streptomyces parvullus T-665 (FERM-P No. 6153), belonging to the genus Streptomyces, and having the ability to produce a novel thermophilic xylanase is cultivated at 40-50 deg.C and about neutral pH for about 3-5 days to collect the novel thermophilic xylanase having 35-48 deg.C optimal temperature for action, which is then reacted with a natural substance containing beta-1, 4-xylan to collect at least one selected from D-xylose, xylo-oligosaccharide and xylobiose from the reaction product.
