OPTICAL DATA READER

PURPOSE:To widen a field of view of a sensor, and to read data with high accuracy by simple constitution, by loading the first and the second shading plates for correcting the light quantity distribution of a light source and the light quantity distribution of a condensing lens, on a carriage. CONSTITUTION:By the first shading plate 3, the light quantity distribution of a fluorescent lamp 1 is uniformly corrected over the whole area of a read range, and by the second shading plate 8, the light quantity distribution is corrected so as to be uniform in the center part of a condensing lens 6 and in the vicinity of the end part. These plates 3, 8 are loaded on a carriage 4 for moving a CCD image sensor 9, and an output of the sensor 9 is always kept constant. This carriage is supported so as to be slidable, by guide shafts 5a, 5b provided in parallel with a medium 2, and the carriage 4 is moved in the width direction of the medium 2. In this way, a field of view of read of the sensor 9 is widened, and a data is read with high accuracy.
