CLEANING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To get rid of failure of cleaning, and to satisfactorily separate a toner and a carrier, by applying bias to a toner collecting member which contacts with a magnetic brush drum, in a cleaning device of an electrophotographic copying machine. CONSTITUTION:In order to remove a remaining toner of a photosensitive drum 1, a corona discharger 2 and a magnetic brush 3 are arranged, and also a toner collecting member 6 is provided at a position where it contacts with the magnetic brush 3 and is opposed to the drum 1 without contacting. To this toner collecting member 6, charge being opposite in polarity of the toner is applied to the extent that a carrier from the magnetic brush 3 does not adhere, and the toner in the magnetic brush, and the remaining toner, carrier, etc. on the drum are adsorbed, by which the cleaning efficiency is elevated.
